NC+ Hybrids offers full range of technology options in 2005 corn, soybean and grain sorghum product lineup
Lincoln, Nebraska
August 24, 2004

Keeping its commitment to offer a full line of cutting-edge genetics and technology products, NC+ Hybrids is offering customers a wide array of corn hybrids for the 2005 growing-season.

“Our philosophy is to provide growers every opportunity to evaluate all new technologies in the marketplace, and then decide for themselves which options make most sense for their individual operations,” NC+ Product Manager Doug Gloystein said. “We will remain very aggressive in identifying the best seed genetics possible through our own research and breeding facilities.  That allows us to apply the newest technologies to the best hybrids and varieties available.

NC+ will offer 23 new corn hybrids for 2005.  They include various combinations of Roundup Ready, YieldGard Corn Borer and YieldGard Rootworm technologies.  There are also three new conventional corn hybrids, as well as two new white corn hybrids.  New soybean offerings include one Roundup Ready variety, one Roundup Ready/STS variety and one conventional variety.  A new red seeded grain sorghum hybrid is also included in the NC+ product lineup for 2005.

“Simplicity and safety are really the two biggest factors that are driving all these new technologies in the marketplace,” Gloystein said.  “It’s a matter of not having to handle as many chemicals and having less labor involved in using many of these products.  As farms continue to grow bigger in acres, these become bigger and bigger issues.”

Gloystein added that he expects to see a continued trend toward more stacked-trait hybrids driven by customer demand to use seed products that best meet needs in specific field and environmental situations.
