Agdia announces new lateral flow strip for testing transgenic cotton
Elkhart, Indiana
January 12, 2004

Agdia, Inc., a leading provider of easy-to-use test kits for agricultural diagnostics, announced today the commercialization of a new lateral flow strip for testing transgenic cotton. When testing Bollgard II® with Roundup Ready® cottonseed, this validated multi-trait ImmunoStrip™ effectively detects the two Bt proteins, Bt-Cry2Ab and Bt-Cry1Ac and the CP4 EPSPS (RR) protein. The ImmunoStrip™ gives the user 4 distinct indication lines (one control line and three test lines) all on one test strip.

Tim Goldy, Agdia’s ImmunoStripTM Production Manager, was a leader in this new product development.  Goldy says, “These cost effective multi-trait ImmunoStrips™ allow the user to have three easy-to-read test results all on one strip. In effect, it eliminates the need to run multiple tests.  This increases our customers profitability, something our company has always been very concerned with.”

Agdia has been in business over 20 years and offers not only diagnostics test kits, but also a comprehensive pathogen testing services program.
