Kentland, Indiana
October 6, 2004

AVN Seeds, LLC. (AgVenture of Nebraska Seeds) has signed an exclusive territory agreement with AgVenture, Inc. of Kentland, Indiana.  AVN Seeds co-owners, Dennis Kenyon and Tim Weeces, will market AgVenture brand corn, soybeans, grain sorghum and alfalfa in central and southeast Nebraska.

Weeces said, “We see this as great opportunity to grow the business the right way and for the right reasons.”

Kenyon and Weeces each own and operate their own AgVenture Satellite seed businesses. Kenyon is owner of ProSelect, Inc. at Kearney. Weeces is owner of Seed Services of Nebraska, Inc. at Minden. The two are launching AVN Seeds as a joint owned seed business serving a greater adjacent territory.  Kenyon said, “We have hired an excellent team of sales professionals to work with farmers in the area.” AVN Seeds has hired Ken Erickson at Ravenna and Mark Wollenburg at Beatrice.

Kenyon added, “In addition, we’re pleased to announce we have signed a marketing agreement with Norder Agri Supply, Inc. of Bruning, Nebraska to sell AgVenture seed at their six retail outlets across the territory.”

Norder Agri Supply Sales and Marketing Manager, Ted Norder said, “We are looking forward to the opportunity this relationship offers us as we serve our customers.”

AgVenture, Inc. VP Sales & Marketing, Jim Groepper said, “This innovative new business is a great example of entrepreneurship at it’s best. Dennis and Tim each have been very successful with their own businesses. Combined, their commitment to providing AgVenture products and services to Nebraska producers will be successful and rewarding for all involved.”

Groepper added that AgVenture is growing across the country. In addition to AVN Seeds, AgVenture recently added new satellite seed companies in Iowa, South Dakota and Mississippi.

AgVenture, Inc., founded in 1983, is the largest network of independently owned seed companies in the United States. AgVenture provides its network of twenty-seven independent, family-owned and managed companies with seed products that meet exacting standards for quality combined with leading edge genetics and technology.  This unique marketing approach allows each individual company to match the hybrids it sells to the specific needs of the geographical area it serves.  It also enables the entrepreneurs who own the marketing companies to make the best choices that match their customers’ localized needs.
