PI Bioscience's environmentally-friendly biotech products stimulate crop growth in extreme climatic environments
Liverpool, United Kingdom
February 15, 2005

PI Bioscience, the first company to enter the MerseyBIO Incubator, has established links with over 17 countries eager for its pioneering agricultural products. PI Bioscience was established only 18 months ago and with help from the UK Trade & Investment and the International Trade Centre for Greater Merseyside it has already established itself on the international arena.

Its environmentally-friendly biotech products stimulate crop growth in extreme climatic environments, such as drought, salinity, heat, cold, soil mineral deficiency and soil mineral toxicity. The products enable plants and crops to fight off abiotic stress, enhancing yields and performance without the need for genetic modification.

PI Bioscience has clients in the Middle East, North Africa and Europe and trails are currently taking place in South America.

International Trade Advisor, Anne Hodgson, said: "PI Bioscience's products are excellent and the company would have achieved success eventually. However, we have been able to introduce a fast track approach."

UKTI’s assistance extends from in-depth reports of each country's markets and contacts for internal distributors gleaned from high commissions and embassies.

PI Bioscience director, Peter Blezard, said: "Right from the start we knew our products would be market leaders but our market had to be found overseas, not from within the UK. Anne and the team have brought the commercial power of the overseas embassies to our doorstep."
