Now sorghum
growers can protect sorghum seed and seedlings from disease and
insects with one dry talc–based hopperbox treatment. Available
from Agriliance, Concur
seed treatment is an AgriSolutions™ product recently approved
for use on sorghum.
“Growing
conditions can be unpredictable and challenging at planting and
seedling stage,” said Nathan Wright, seed treatment and grain
protectants business manager, Agriliance. “Even under wet, cold
conditions, low-odor Concur added to the hopperbox prior to
planting provides the disease protection of metalaxyl and the
insect protection of imidacloprid.”
Insect protection
is especially important when seed company applied insecticides
are not available, Wright adds. “Concur provides growers with an
excellent option for early-season protection.”
One Concur
treatment protects seeds and seedlings systemically against
damping off and seed decay caused by Pythium. Concur
also suppresses a broad spectrum of destructive pests, including
wireworms, seed corn maggots, true white grubs and imported fire
ants.
“The systemic seed
protection provided by Concur will be welcome news for sorghum
producers who realize the importance of protecting their
investment,” said Wright.
Concur is also
registered for use on field corn, sweet corn and popcorn.
Agriliance
markets crop nutrients, crop protection products, seed (through
CROPLAN GENETICS) and crop technical services to farmers and
ranchers through local cooperatives and independent dealers in
all 50 states, Canada and Mexico. |
