Bully Botma, Voorsitter van Graan SA het aangekondig dat dr.
John Purchase met onmiddellike effek as aangestel is.
Dr. Purchase is reeds sedert 2002 in die bestuurspan van Graan
SA, aanvanklik as Bestuurder van Insette en sedert 2004 as
Bestuurder: Strategiese Ontwikkeling.
Dr. Purchase het 'n B.Sc Agric by die Universiteit Pretoria en
'n B.Sc Agri Hons by die Universiteit van Stellenbosch geslaag,
waarna hy die grade M.Sc Agric en Ph.D. by die Universiteit
Vrystaat verwerf het.
Dr. Purchase het ook wye navorsingservaring opgedoen tydens sy
diens by die Landbou Navorsingsraad (LNR) se Kleingraaninstituut
te Bethlehem waar hy vanaf 1981 werksaam was. Vanaf 1992 tot
1999 het hy as Afdelingsbestuurder: Gewaskunde opgetree. Dr.
Purchase het daarna diens aanvaar by die LNR se Instituut vir
Graangewasse waar hy die pos van Senior Adjunkdirekteur tot 2002
gevul het.
Dr. Purchase is getroud met Esté en spog met twee dogters.
Mnr. Botma het vertroue uitgespreek dat dr. Purchase, gegewe die
moeilike omstandighede waarin die graanbedryf verkeer, die
nodige dinamiese leiding aan die organisasie sal bied.
Mr Bully Botma, Chairman of GSA has announced on Friday 24 June
05 that dr John Purchase was appointed as new General Manager of
GSA with immediate effect.
Dr Purchase has already since 2002 been part of the management
team of GSA, initially as Manager of Inputs but since 2004 as
Manager: Strategic Development.
Dr Purchase obtained a BSc Agric at the University of Pretoria,
BSc Agric Honns at Stellenbosch University and both MSc Agric
and PhD at the University of the Free State.
Dr Purchase gained extensive research experience during his
service in the Agricultural Research Council (ARC) Small Grain
Institute in Bethlehem. He started his career during 1981 and
advanced to Division Manager: Crop Science in 1992. During 1999
he was appointed as Senior Deputy Director at the ARC-Grain
Crops Institute in Potchefstroom, where he served until 1992
when he accepted the position at GSA.
Dr Purchase is married to Esté and they have two daughters.
Mr Botma expressed his confidence in Dr Purchase to provide the
necessary dynamic leadership to the organisation, given the
difficult circumstances the grain industry currently finds
itself in. |
