Garst Seed introduces Agrisure™ CB Advantage in two new corn hybrids for 2005
Slater, Iowa
March 2, 2005

Garst Seed Company is launching a new corn borer technology, Agrisure CB Advantage from Syngenta, in two new hybrids for 2005 planting.

The new hybrids are Garst® 8554CB/LL, a 107-day general relative maturity (GRM) hybrid, and Garst 8452CB/LL, a 112-day GRM hybrid. The Agrisure CB Advantage trait, which is the brand name for Bt11, provides season-long protection from European corn borer, Southwestern corn borer and Southern cornstalk borer.

“Once again Garst is bringing corn growers elite products with high-yielding genetics, strong agronomics and proven technology for pest management,” says Jeff Sernett, corn product manager for Garst. “We’re thrilled to offer growers the Agrisure CB Advantage trait in our corn portfolio. These hybrids represent a combination of superior genetics and technology that provides key alternatives for growers.”

Sernett added that these new hybrids will be most welcomed by growers using the LibertyLink® herbicide system, including areas where Roundup Ready® corn seed supplies may be limited and growers are using the LibertyLink system as a solid alternative.

Corn hybrids with Agrisure CB Advantage are accompanied by a valuable set of assurances called the AgrisureTM Advantage. An Agrisure Advantage Technology Guide provides growers with complete stewardship information for all Agrisure CB trait products.
