Slater, Iowa
October 31, 2005

Garst Seed Company recently named Mark Meyer as an area agronomist covering Colorado, Montana, Wyoming and western Nebraska.

Meyer, a certified crop adviser (CCA) since 1995, will be based in Brighton, Colo., and will be responsible for providing agronomic expertise and solutions to growers.

Meyer brings 12 years of crop consulting experience to his new position. Most recently, he was a regional sales manager for Arkansas Valley Seed Solutions. Prior to that, he provided growers pesticide and soil and fertility recommendations at Meyer Agronomic Services. Before that, he was a western regional manager for ADM/Collingwood Grain.

“Mark has extensive experience working with growers and providing them agronomic solutions to their production challenges,” says Jim Bueltel, western agronomy services manager for Garst. “He’s worked in Colorado and other western states and will be a great asset in helping growers in these areas make solid crop management decisions.”

Meyer graduated with a bachelor’s degree in agribusiness from Oklahoma Panhandle State University in Goodwell, Okla.

Garst Seed Company, with headquarters in Slater, Iowa, provides seed solutions for growers across North America with high yielding corn, soybean, sorghum, alfalfa and sunflower products.

Garst Seed Company is affiliated with Syngenta, a world-leading agribusiness committed to sustainable agriculture through innovative research and technology. Syngenta is a leader in crop protection, and ranks third in the high-value commercial seeds market. Sales in 2004 were approximately $7.3 billion. Syngenta employs some 20,000 people in over 90 countries. Syngenta is listed on the Swiss stock exchange (SYNN) and in New York (SYT).
