As part of its IPGRI Technical
Bulletin series, the International Plant Genetic Resources
Institute (IPGRI) has recently published "Molecular markers
for genebank management" by D. Spooner, R. van Treuren and
M.C. de Vicente.
The 126-page document includes discussion of the main marker
techniques and their comparative qualities; applications of
molecular techniques in genebank management and crop breeding;
and current developments in molecular marker applications and
future challenges that could result from these developments.
