Golden Acres Genetics to offer Poncho-treated grain sorghum in 2007
Waco, Texas
December 20, 2006

Golden Acres Genetics has selected Poncho® seed-applied insecticide as its exclusive insecticidal seed treatment for grain sorghum.

Poncho protects sorghum seedlings from chinch bugs, greenbugs, corn leaf aphids, yellow sugarcane aphids, English grain aphids and other chewing and sucking insect pests. It also protects sorghum seed and seedlings from early season wireworms and protects sorghum seedlings from black cutworms that feed on tender young roots and stems.

“We constantly strive to offer our customers only the best options in quality seed traits and treatments,” said Golden Acres president Lou Buice. “We are excited to be one of the first seed companies to exclusively offer Poncho for grain sorghum.”

Poncho’s use in grain sorghum is expected to change the standards for insect protection. In field trails across the sorghum growing areas of the southwest, Poncho has consistently outperformed conventional seed and soil applied insecticides.

Golden Acres Genetics, Ltd. is an independent, family-owned, seed company that professionally serves farmers with custom seed solutions, including sound genetics, proven technology and consistent performance, all with personalized service.
