The purpose of this letter is to advise you that the National Forum on Seed will be hosting a Working Group meeting on the subject of Crop Specific Consultative Group - on February 6, 2007 in Winnipeg, Manitoba.

At the last National Forum on Seed Meeting, held December 1st, forum members decided that the National Forum on Seed should organize a meeting on CSCGs in order to provide advice to CFIAs as part of the consultation process on their proposed Seed Modernization Program Initiative.

In this connection, the purpose of this working group meeting will be to develop a statement of advice on the form and function, membership criteria, role and mandate and governance of Crop Specific Working Groups using as a starting point the CFIA pre-proposal discussion document.
