Heritage Seeds and Diener Seeds join forces
Reynolds, Indiana
June, 2006

As sure as the sun will rise tomorrow morning, you will begin to hear rumblings around the coffee shops and
little league games about Diener Seeds changing hands. Let me clarify the facts. It will be formally announced next month that Mike and Tim Diener will join American Seeds Inc., or ASI as it has become known. ASI, myself and the Diener family all agreed there was an outstanding opportunity to serve our customers with the merger of Diener Seed and Heritage Seeds together under our parent company ASI.

Everyone involved at Diener Seed as well as Heritage Seeds is very excited about the marriage of these two fine companies. Together we offer you five generations of seed experience. We know what we’re doing. When Mike and I sat down last week to review our expanded sales force, we discussed just how many cumulative years of experience we have in the seed business. Unbelievable!

Seed companies of all sizes have one major challenge in common: harnessing the hurricane of technology. While new technology rages all around us, the trick is to capture only the solidly confirmed science, and let the rest
blow away with the wind. Our alliance with ASI offers us the resources to secure the proven technologies. The research available to us now, handed to us already tested and authenticated. We stand now in an amazing position to provide you with the strongest technology in seed.

Together we will be very proud to offer our customers the most comprehensive lineup of top end seed corn and soybeans. The germplasm we can access is unmatched, not to mention the agronomic support available to us. This access is the most critical element in the seed industry today, and now we have a direct line to it. With the joining of forces, our product breadth encompasses the best of the best in corn, soybeans, and alfalfa.

So, if you stop in at the coffee shop or ball diamond, and you run into a couple farmers wondering what’s going on, you’ll know the whole story! There will be more details to follow, but feel free to call me with any questions – 863.2051 – anytime. We have knowledge, experience, and staying power … That’s the bottom line.
