NCGA and ASA welcome National Association of Wheat Growers to join Commodity Classic in 2007
Anaheim, California
March 6, 2006

The National Corn Growers Association (NCGA) and the American Soybean Association (ASA) announced Thursday the National Association of Wheat Growers (NAWG) will join Commodity Classic in 2007. NCGA and ASA made the announcement at the 2006 Commodity Classic in Anaheim, California.

“NCGA is thrilled to bring the National Association of Wheat Growers on board for Commodity Classic,” said Gerald Tumbleson, NCGA president. “Commodity Classic is the leading convention among agriculture groups, and we now have three of the top commodities represented. The National Association of Wheat Growers is committed to several of the same issues that NCGA and ASA tackle, and our group looks forward to discussing key issues with the wheat growers.”

“NAWG is obviously excited about joining Commodity Classic,” said Dale Schuler, president of NAWG. “This partnership will benefit us all, as we have many interests in common with corn and soybeans, including farm policy, trade and renewable energy. Joining Commodity Classic will also allow us to reach out to wheat growers who may be in a state that doesn’t have a formal state association but who raise wheat in rotation.”

NAWG has 25,000 members in 19 states.

Corn and soybean growers are celebrating the 10th annual Commodity Classic in Anaheim. In addition to seminars about production, marketing, management and agriculture issues, Commodity Classic features hundreds of booths highlighting a wide variety of equipment, products and services that are important to farmers.
