A seed
conditioning clinic and trade show is being planned for
February 7-8, 2007, at the Holiday Inn in Salina.
The
program will be directed toward several angles of the
industry, with presentations addressing management issues
along with practical seed equipment and handling methods.
The program aims to attract a wide audience—not only those
who own and manage seed conditioning facilities, but also
employees who may be new to the industry or in need of
training.
Seed
conditioners from a four-state area—Kansas, Colorado,
Nebraska, and Oklahoma—are expected to attend the clinic.
Kansas Crop Improvement
Association (KCIA) is organizing the event.
“I think
we’ll have a good program this year, but I also think these
clinics are valuable because of the chance they give for
people to get together and exchange ideas,” said KCIA
inspections manager Steve Schuler.
The seed
clinic will be accompanied by a seed industry trade show
that will feature the latest products and services in seed
conditioning. Shelbourne Reynolds, Oliver Manufacturing,
Syngenta, USC LLC, Boettcher Enterprises, Kansas Farmers
Service Association, Great Plains Manufacturing, Bratney
Companies, and EBM Mill & Elevator Supply are among the
companies that will participate in the show.
The seed
clinic and trade show will accompany the annual meetings of
KCIA and the
Kansas
Seed Industry Association (KSIA).
