Broad-spectrum, early-season
insect protection with new-technology seed treatment chemistry
is now available for a wide range of crops. NITRO SHIELD™ seed
treatment, a new AgriSolutions™ product from
Agriliance, which
includes the active ingredient imidacloprid, offers highly
effective systemic insect protection for more than 15 crops.
Part of the neonicitinoid chemistry family, NITRO SHIELD™ seed
treatment features convenient, low-use rates and is compatible
with most fungicides and inoculants for flexible application
options. The new product is labeled for use on cotton, soybeans,
wheat and a large variety of additional crops.
“NITRO SHIELD™ seed treatment provides dealers with the newest
seed-applied insecticide technology for most major crops and a
number of specialty crops that have had limited seed-treatment
options in the past,” says Nathan Wright, seed treatment and
grain protectants business manager for Agriliance. “Plus, NITRO
SHIELD™ seed treatment delivers longer residual control and
offers greater user safety than many older-generation products.”
NITRO SHIELD™ seed treatment protects crops throughout critical
early-season growth against a broad spectrum of important pests,
including seed corn maggot, seed corn beetle, bean leaf beetle,
wireworm on wheat, aphid suppression on soybeans, and many
others. Due to its systemic action, NITRO SHIELD™ seed treatment
also protects pretreated seed against insect damage during
storage.
NITRO SHIELD™ seed treatment may be applied by seed companies or
dealers with commercial seed treaters. For more information
about NITRO SHIELD™ seed treatment, contact your Agriliance
dealer.
