Pride Seeds launches the 2008 list of Hero Hybrids

.

Pain Court, Ontario, Canada
December 3, 2007

Pride Seeds has announced the 2008 list of Hero Hybrids - a list of hybrids that represents many of the best performing hybrids in the Pride Seeds corn portfolio.

“We started the Hero Hybrid designation to profile key Pride Seeds hybrids that were clearly leading their maturity for yield and agronomic performance,” notes Stephen Denys, VP Sales and Marketing with Pride Seeds.

“When a producer sees a hybrid with the Hero hybrid designation, they can trust that this hybrid is a proven performer and winner in its area, tested and marketed like all of our hybrids at its true maturity so that there are no guessing games in the spring when planting or in the fall when yield and drydown count.”

“What is important to know is that a hybrid is not given the Hero Hybrid designation just because it has had a good year. We have a strict protocol in place to ensure that what is branded a Hero Hybrid is not something new and untested, but rather a hybrid that has performed at the top of its class over a range of growing conditions and over multiple testing seasons,” says Fred Sinclair, Manager of Product Development and Agronomy with Pride Seeds.

“We have several new hybrids such as A6012G3 that have been extremely impressive and are leading their maturity for two years now. Once we see the data next year, we will be able to consider this hybrid for Hero Hybrid status. By waiting to ensure we have three or more years of development and commercial data, producers can be assured that hybrids with the Hero Hybrid designation are indeed the best of the best.”

The class of 2008 Hero Hybrids includes:
