Plant Health Care, Inc. promotes Dr. Greg Lewis to Vice President, Corporate Development

Pittsburg, Pennsylvania
April 2, 2008

Plant Health Care, Inc. (PHC) is pleased to announce the promotion of Dr. Greg Lewis to Vice President-Corporate Development. In this position, Lewis' organization will be responsible for identifying and acquiring new technologies, product development and registrations, together with testing and licensing activities for PHC. Lewis was the key architect in PHC's strategic partnering agreements with Bayer CropScience AG and Monsanto Company.

“I was formerly involved in business development with a focus on out-licensing arrangements for existing PHC technologies," Lewis says. "Now, I'm also involved in the acquisition of new technologies and new products. I will work with domestic and international corporations as well as small companies and universities here and abroad.

"PHC is the leader in plant health products. I have seen dramatic changes in PHC in the past two years; the company has transitioned from simply marketing products and technologies to now, setting up major supply arrangements as well as licensing technologies to global leaders in the agricultural sector, including, for example, Bayer CropScience and Monsanto.

"We already have new products that we're introducing here in the U.S. For example, Employ™ will be available for vegetables in 2008. We also just registered Myconate®, our mycorrhizal stimulant for vegetables in California; 49 of the 50 US states now approve Myconate. We have an important agreement with Bayer CropScience for Myconate in row crops and a similar arrangement with Monsanto for harpin seed treatments, also in row crops. Additionally, we're growing the R&D side so we can market these same products in vegetables and other important crop sectors. These are absolutely exciting times to be working with PHC."

PHC started in 1995 and until 2007, was focused on horticulture, turf, vegetables and high value crops. It is now adding field crops—cotton, corn and soybeans—plus cereals with the acquisition of Myconate® and the Harpin technologies. PHC develops, manufactures and markets innovative Harpin Protein-based products (Harp-N-Tek®), which have a unique mode of action for improving crop production and plant health. For example, N-Hibit® Gold CST and ProAct™ contain the new generation of Harpin Protein.

Plant Health Care, Inc., headquartered in Pittsburgh, PA, is a wholly owned subsidiary of Plant Health Care plc (AIM:PHC), a leading provider of natural products for plants and soil. PHC has operations in the United States, Mexico, the United Kingdom, Spain, and the Netherlands. PHC products are for the landscape, agriculture horticulture and land reclamation industries and are environmentally beneficial. Through the commercialization of these products, PHC is capitalizing on current long-term trends toward natural systems and biological products for plant care and soil and water management.

Myconate®, ProAct™, Harp-N-Tek®, N-Hibit®, PHC and Plant Health Care, Inc. are trademarks of Plant Health Care, Inc.
