Extending its reach across the
state of Minnesota,
AgVenture, Inc. has announced the addition of their newest
Regional Seed Company, Corn Capital Genetics, LLC. Co-owners
Jeff Keltgen and Steve O’Neill will provide farmers across a
significant part of the south central Minnesota market with
AgVenture® brand corn, soybeans and alfalfa. Corn Capital
Genetics is based in Olivia in Renville County, Minnesota’s top
corn producing county.
The Keltgen family name is well recognized in Minnesota. Jeff
has more than 20 years seed industry experience. Keltgen said,
“AgVenture is a solid company with 25 successful years operating
this unique business model. It’s AgVenture’s access to the major
seed genetics and technologies providers that gives us this
exceptional power at the local level – power to match seed with
soil types, production practices and a farmer’s specific goals.”
O’Neill added, “We have some of the most progressive farmers in
Minnesota in our Corn Capital Genetics territory. Now, we have
the opportunity to help them take their game to a whole new
level. With support of AgVenture, we deliver a unique,
cutting-edge genetic-tech package along with new thinking and a
fresh approach to production practices on a farmer’s entire
operation.”
“I really respect the philosophies AgVenture embodies and
encourages,” Keltgen stated. “From the get-go, we’ve had the
support of the national brand and a network of 38 other
independent Regional Seed Companies in 23 states – all who are
working to raise the bar for their growers. With AgVenture, we
can help farmers achieve new production and profitability
goals.”
Jim Groepper, Vice President Sales & Marketing for AgVenture,
Inc. (AVI) said, “We’re pleased to welcome a new group of
farmers to AgVenture through Corn Capital Genetics. Jeff and
Steve typify the proactive, dedicated and committed seed
expertise that runs through our Regional Seed Companies
nationwide. Their ability to provide cropping solutions to
Minnesota farmers will no doubt make a positive impact.”
Keltgen is a graduate of University of Minnesota, St. Paul. He
and his wife, Shelly, have three children, ages 23, 20 and 19.
They make their home in Olivia. O’Neill is a graduate of NDSU at
Fargo where he received a Bachelors degree in agronomy and
