‘Growing Business’ takes off in Melbourne, July 08

AUSVEG is excited to announce a ‘first of its kind’ business management program tailored to the needs of Australian vegetable growers, commencing in Melbourne on 4 July 2008.

A recent training needs analysis identifying a shortage of business skills within the industry has prompted AUSVEG to partner with Response Learning to build a unique program to help vegetable growers maximise their potential.

The program has been designed specifically for vegetable growers to ensure practical learning within the unique landscape of the industry.

The course will focus on developing business, finance and marketing knowledge and skill through the use of practical projects.

Participants will learn how to write and implement a business plan, how to manage business finances and how to market their business for better growth.

The program will be held on 4/5 July, 18/19 July and 22/23 August 2008, and can lead to Certificate IV in Small Business Management.

The program is subsidised by Business Victoria and costs $800 for six days of training, followed by some distance education.

To be part of this program or for more information, vegetable growers can visit www.responseaust.com.au or call Wendy Hall, Response Learning on 07 3357 4400 or 0418 491 595.
