UGG completes three previously announced acquisitions
Winnipeg, Manitoba

UGG today confirmed it has completed the previously announced purchase of selected assets and the ongoing businesses of three crop input retailers: Pattison Bros. Agro Ltd., Camrose Fertilizer Ltd., and Eastbank Agro Ltd.

The purchase of Pattison Bros. Agro Ltd., a crop input retailer located in Lemberg, Saskatchewan
was announced January 4, 1999. UGG's new Lemberg location sells crop protection products, dry
and liquid fertilizer and offers a full range of custom applica tion services to farm customers within a 25 mile radius of Lemberg.

The purchase of Camrose Fertilizer Ltd. was originally announced on January 21, 1999. The business and staff are now based out of UGG's new high throughput facility in Camrose, Alberta.

The agreement with Eastbank Agro Ltd., a crop input retailer located in the Outlook area of
Saskatchewan, was announced on January 29, 1999. UGG's new Eastbank location sells fertilizer, Proven Seed varieties and crop protection products to irrigation an d dryland farmers in an area outlined by the South Saskatchewan River to the south and west and Highway 11 to the east.

Terms of these purchases are not being disclosed.

During the past 15 months, UGG has either purchased or announced its intention to purchase, 16
individual crop input businesses. At the same time, UGG is building and improving numerous grain handling facilities and feed mills across western Canada, as p art of its competitive strategy to better meet farmers' business needs.

UGG is one of western Canada's largest agribusiness firms. Founded in 1906, the Winnipeg based Company is diversified into grain merchandising, crop input marketing and distribution, livestock production services and farm business communications. UGG is publicly traded on the Toronto Stock Exchange and Winnipeg Stock Exchange, under the symbol 'UGG'.
