October 23, 1998Stoneville Pedigreed Seed Company has promoted Greg
Baldwin to the position of Southeast Technical Services Agronomist to be based in Albany,
Georgia. Baldwin has been with Stoneville since 1991, most recently serving as Herbicide
Resistance Technical Manager.
In his new position Baldwin will be responsible for providing technical support to all of
Stoneville's
stakeholdersgrowers, consultants, Extension personnel, farm supply dealers,
etcin the Southeastern cotton producing states. "Greg was actively involved in
the development of Stoneville's transgenic varieties, BG 4740 and BXN 47," says Gary
Starwalt, vice president of sales and marketing. "That background will serve him well
in this new position, and we believe he will be a vital new resource to the cotton
community in Alabama, Florida, Georgia, North Carolina, South Carolina and Virginia."
Baldwin holds a M.S. in crop science from North Carolina State and a B.S. in agriculture
from Murray State University. He is active in a variety of agricultural professional
societies, has co-authored several scholarly papers and is a regular presenter at industry
meetings such as the Beltwide Cotton Conferences. Prior to joining Stoneville Baldwin was
with Rhone-Poulenc Ag Company and North Carolina State University.
