August 24, 2001
ERS, the Economic Research
Service of USDA, is premiering a new all-electronic newsletter,
available online only. The new Vegetables and Melons Outlook
newsletter will debut on August 21, followed by additional
issues on October 23 and December 14. As of January 1, 2002,
this new every-other-month newsletter will replace the
less-frequently issued Vegetables and Specialties Situation and
Outlook report series. Yearbooks still will be available in hard
copy.
The current schedule of Vegetables and Specialties Situation and
Outlook reports will continue in print and on the web until the
end of the year. The Vegetables and Specialties Situation and
Outlook report summary will be released on November 15, 2001,
with a printed (and electronic) report to follow shortly.
The Vegetables and Melons Outlook newsletter will continue to
provide current intelligence and forecasts of changing
conditions in the U.S. vegetable and melon sector. Topics
include production, consumption, prices, trade, and more. The
calendar for 2002 will appear on the ERS website in the fall of
2001.
