Orsetti Seeds acquires VTR Seed Co. specialty pepper program breeding and production program

Orsetti Seed Company, Inc. of Hollister, CA has announced its acquisition of the VTR Seed Co. specialty pepper program breeding and production program. Included in the total assets acquired last September are all the varieties and germplasm of the VTR pepper program, notably the popular jalapeño varieties VTR 7 and VTR 50 Conchos.

"Acquisition of the VTR pepper program complements the existing variety development program of Orsetty Seeds that has been directed by our pepper researcher and plant breeder Dr. John Hunsperger," said Paul Orsetti, President of Orsetti Seed Company, Inc. "This expansion also puts our pepper research three to four years ahead of its projected annual growth."

All Orsetti seed products are available through local dealers, with the exception of VTR 7 and VTR 59 sales into Mexicom which are handled exclusively through Ochoa Seed Company.
