You will help shape the future of agriculture by:
- To manage the US trucking program as part of the perishable distribution network from Farm to Ship-to customer.
- Coordinate domestic distribution planning, through the analysis of weekly orders to combine lanes and routing of trucks within NA.
- Controlling the lane routing and managing logistics execution with transport considerations of customer requests, to maintain customer centricity, while optimizing costs.
- Create SOP’s for transport execution of trucking at Ports of Entry and Farms.
- Work closely with & assist Customer Service, planning and supply with any and all requests in a timely manner.
- Continuous and timely communication with delivery customers, sales brokers, trucking agents and manager, to ensure integrity of information flow across stakeholders.
- Work with team for synergies of Logistical operations with the lens of trucking growth and continuation of plans.
- Provide support to all logistics functions, and act as a back-up for other team members.
- Budget planning on lanes, to meet the cost efficency targets set by the Logistics Manager.
- Maintain compliance to Syngenta polices, statutory, regulatory and ethical requirements.
Accountabilities
- Trucking analysis and coordination
- Knowledge of harvesting, importation lead times, delivery expectations, customer requests, manual processes, SAP/FMS processes, trucking DOT rules and regulations, broker programs and expectations
- Prioritize workload and ensure timely delivery of product to meet customer orders.
- Other duties may be required as determined by the Logistics Manager.
- Support and interface with other departments as required maintaining good working relationships and open communication.
- Update and evaluate metrics to assess performance and implement enhancements.
- Manage Temp Recorders and information for reports to QC and Logistics team.
- Spreadsheet analysis of temp recorders weekly.
- Ensure supply of temp recorders to farms (Alva, FL, Mexico, Guatemala, Kenya, and Ethiopia).
Qualifications
Requirements
- Five years’ experience of perishable logistics trucking distribution.
- SAP experience desired.
- Bilingual in Spanish is considered a plus.
- Exceptional communication skills.
- Team player.
- Highly organized & able to manage effectively in a fast paced environment
- A minimum of 2 years in current position is required (requirement for internal applicants only)
