You will enhance the prosperity of farmers by:
- Prepare and implement contracting strategies per crop for significant grower and subcontractor contracts to create the optimal balance in price, location, and capabilities.
- Continually improve and standardize Seed contracts by developing innovative ways to contract with growers and third parties that meet Syngenta’s requirements.
- Develop expertise in the marketplace that enables competitive pricing models.
- Actively use supplier relationship management.
- Coach and train Agronomist to build a set of skills to help them lead the negotiations with growers
- Ensure compliance in the procurement to pay processes
- Packaging, Seeds Treatment or Chemical purchases.
Accountabilities
- Negotiation of commercial agreements including legal contracts
- Ensure Procurement engagement on end to end Seeds Operations
- Engage with Regional Procurement Managers to ensure sharing of best practices and regional alignment
- Develop and implement sourcing and pricing strategies that deliver Production and Supply objectives
- Understand Syngenta’s objectives and identify appropriate third parties
- Promote the use of a structured Supplier Relationship Management approach
- Utilize and promote the use of available Seeds Operation and procurement tools
- Demonstrate highest ethical standards and ensure company procedures are adopted and followed
- Continually seek, identify and deliver potential opportunities and report and track opportunities in One innovation
- Ensure measurement and delivery of KPI’s aligned with business objectives
- Identify best practice and develop benchmarks that compare internal performance to industry best practice
- Accountable to maintain current market knowledge and industry trends
- Ensure compliance with policies and procedures
Qualifications
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in either Technical or Business
- MBA or CPM desired but not required
- Experience in Seeds Production, Procurement and Supply Chain
- Excellent negotiating skills
- Communication and interpersonal skills, ability to influence
- Understanding of field production and processing operations
- Ability to collaborate
- Project management
- Ability to establish relationships with business team members, regional and global procurement teams, and suppliers
- Develops effective networks across the global and regional organization
- Contributes positively to the values and the culture of the business
- Ability to understand financial implications of sourcing strategies and contract designs
- Travel requirements approximately 25%
