Marketing and Member Outreach Manager

This position is primarily responsible for developing materials and marketing strategies to support the initiatives of communications, membership and meetings as well as the overall association goals. The individual must work well in a team environment, manage multiple projects and be a self-starter. Knowledge of HTML coding, WordPress and Drupal content management systems with a good eye for design will prove beneficial in this position. An agricultural background is a plus. This role also includes some administrative support. 

Responsibilities: 

  • Create and execute a marketing strategy for ASTA events and association membership in partnership with the respective directors 
  • Assist in writing and producing ASTA’s publications and newsletters 
  • Contribute to website redesign and updates 
  • Develop online and print materials for ASTA’s meetings 
  • Help develop strategies and content for ASTA’s social media presence 
  • Support the Director of Communications in planning and executing Communications Committee activities 
  • Help prepare and execute communications efforts to new and existing members 

Reports To: ASTA Director of Communications

Qualifications: 

  • Strong communications/marketing skills 
  • Must have an eye for design and attention to detail 
  • Ability to manage multiple projects 
  • Responsible for meeting deadlines 
  • Must be highly driven and results oriented 
  • Knowledge of HTML coding a plus

Education and Experience Required: 

  • Bachelor of Arts or Bachelor of Science 
  • 2-3 years of marketing or communications experience 
  • Strong writing and grammar skills 
  • Experience with social media 
  • Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite 
  • Familiarity with WordPress and/or Drupal
