British Society of Plant Breeders announces UK Brassica Open Days

United Kingdom
August 21, 2020

The brassica open days between October 5th and 11th are a staple of the autumn events calendar for many growers and 2020 ought to be no different. At the time of going to press, it is understood that severalvegetable seed companies will be hosting their open days on a number of days during the week beginning 5th October.

However, because ofthe Covid-19 pandemic, the health and safety of visitor viewing any trial fields is now paramount and this year will see a need for well planned visits to any seed company demonstration sites. Anyone intending to view trials is urged to contact their local seed company representative to ensure that they can be permitted and accommodated onto the site as some companies may only accept visitors to trial sites by appointment only: visitors will also need to comply with any safety checks too on a company by company basis.

In a bid to manage the number of people at each trial site it is highly likely that there will not be any supporting trade stands this year and catering will be limited.

It may be possible to arrange a visit outside week 41 but you are urged to contact each company individually for more details.
