ISF Regulatory Affairs Manager Szabolcs Ruthner took part in the panel during the webinar on "Seed Systems during COVID-19: Challenges and Opportunities for Europe and Central Asia", organized by FAO as part of its series on COVID-19 and its impact on food systems.
Szabolcs reiterated ISF's call on governments and partners to keep the supply of seed flowing around the world, to maintain open trade for seed and to allow the continued delivery of innovation, enabling the seed sector to provide locally adapted quality seed. He also called for cooperation among public and private sectors at the regional and local level to build the needed seed systems that will meet the needs of farmers of all sizes.
