In partnership with Bayer, Pairwise has developed a new corn phenotype with increased kernel row numbers

USA
June 2021

This spring, a new phenotype was planted in three U.S. Midwest sites.

In partnership with Bayer, Pairwise has developed a new corn phenotype with increased kernel row numbers.

After a successful planting at each of our three Midwest trial sites, we're thrilled to welcome new growth at our field trials. This is an exciting time as we see the product of over two years of partnership begin to flourish in the field.

These trials offer the chance to see how our edited seed performs from the greenhouse to the ground in three different environmental conditions. With the goal of providing more productivity per acre, these edits, which have already been confirmed by trait testing at Pairwise, will undergo further evaluation to assess increased yield potential for farmers.

We've already seen the incredible speed innovation has to address major concerns for our most challenging food issues. Gene editing will have a transformative impact on row crops, and our high-performing partnership with Bayer further strengthens the promise of positive impacts from gene editing.
