Syngenta's Boxer Gold stands up the annual ryegrass challenge of Andrew Plane, mixed farmer at Ganmain in the New South Wales Riverina

Australia
June 2, 2022

Annual ryegrass is an important weed to control for Andrew Plane, a mixed farmer at Ganmain in the NSW Riverina.

BOXER GOLD® herbicide is a mainstay in his barley program, helping manage annual ryegrass in a crop rotation that includes wheat, canola and occasionally oats. After six years of cropping, he returns those paddocks to pasture for six years, as part of his cross-bred lamb operation.

“It’s quite difficult to control [ARG] once it’s away,” he said.

“It’s an important weed to control.”

Andrew recently won a fully-loaded BOXER GOLD® toolbox including Kincrome and Milwaukee tools.

The competition attracted entries from farmers across Australia’s cereal growing regions, simply requiring entrants to explain in 25 words or less what they like about BOXER GOLD® herbicide.

“The reason I use BOXER GOLD® is that it’s so flexible, it can be used pre, post, and has long incorporation time,” he said.

Andrew Plane of Ganmain, NSW and Honi Anderson of Syngenta with the toolbox won as part of the BOXER GOLD® promotion.
