RAGT is a leading European plant breeder committed to developing its research and commercial position in Europe and has programmes in wheat, durum, triticale, maize, sunflower, soya and grasses.

We are looking for an enthusiastic, innovative, self-motivated and practical person to join RAGT to act as a second wheat breeder. Reporting to the lead breeder and working on the winter wheat programme, you will be based in Ickleton, near Cambridge.

The main responsibilities of the position will be:

• Work with the lead breeder in the definition, organisation and implementation of breeding objectives and projects
• Support the lead breeder in the selection of commercial wheat varieties for the UK and Northern European markets
• Coordinate elements of the breeding team work throughout the year for both field and laboratory activities
• Participate in inter groups tasks related to breeding

Candidates will have a degree or equivalent in plant science, ideally with post graduate qualification and some experience in plant breeding. Good communication, planning and organisational skills are essential and knowledge of biotechnology and statistic tools would be an advantage.
