Business & Prospecting Team Lead

Monsanto is seeking a highly motivated Analyst to be a part of the Prospecting and Competitive Intelligence team based out of Bangalore.  The incumbent will join the Biotechnology organization supporting various teams like corporate strategy, R&D, and commercial operations. Primary responsibilities include providing decision support analysis around Prospecting (scouting) and Competitive Intelligence and strengthening analytical foundation for the team to make informed strategic decisions for the business.

Key Business Accountabilities:

• Research multiple (internal and external) sources for company, industry, and market information:
  • Provide financial/business analysis for the various projects
  • Provide reports/insights on, industries/companies of interest to Monsanto
  • Carry out value chain analysis, Valuation of potential investment opportunities
  • Analyze competitive firms to identify key trends, pipeline activities, products
  • Prepare and present industry profiles, metrics, and reports
  • Develop and analyze business strategy around: vertical industry analysis, competitive intelligence
• Provide subject matter expertise in researching and analyzing markets, segments, and individual companies using all available data sources which may include financial metrics, patent portfolios, regulatory filings, business strategies, and visualization of complex data

Core Business/Functional Skills and Education:

• Masters in Business Administration (MBA) or equivalent qualification with first degree preferably in life sciences or agriculture (Agriculture/Chemistry/Biotechnology/ Bio-engineering)
• 2 years of experience with a commercial organisation preferably in CI/Business Strategy function
• Knack for dealing with numeric data and should be able to comprehend and analyze financial statements (10k, Annual reports etc.)
• Strong business and analytical skills
• Ability to work cross-functionally and deal with ambiguous situations 
• Organized and able to prioritize and perform multiple tasks simultaneously
