Technical Agronomist

Location: Austin, Texas, USA

Sesaco Corporation, a subsidiary of Mitsubishi Corporation, is seeking a highly motivated Technical Agronomist.

Conduct and manage agronomic research within the Research and Development division.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Coordinating with collaborating university weed scientists regarding herbicide trials.
  • Conducting all aspects of in-house herbicide trial preparation, planting, data collection, and analysis.
  • Conducting and managing variety trials
  • Creating and maintaining summaries, statistical analyses, graphical representations, and evaluations of data from several sites and over several years.
  • Utilizing and maintaining research equipment such as planters, combines, lab equipment, etc.
  • Supervising and training temporary or contract labor.
  • Developing summaries of related work and progress.
  • Contributing to discussions of R&D objectives and strategies via regular communications with relevant stakeholders.

Qualifications and Education Requirements:

  • MS or PhD in Agronomy or related field. A specialization in Weed Science preferred.
  • Excellent skills with Microsoft Office software: Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Data Base Management Systems.
  • Must be willing to travel.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Extremely good attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Experience with farm equipment such as tractors, planters, harvesters, etc.
  • On farm experience (field crops preferred)
  • Pesticide Applicator’s License or ability to obtain one asap
