The Molecular Biology team in Woodland, California is seeking a summer intern to work with our research team. This opportunity includes responsibilities in providing assistance in the molecular evaluation of tissue and cell samples from plants.
Candidates should have experience in basic laboratory techniques and be dependable, detail-oriented and flexible.
Duties & Responsibilities
- DNA, RNA or protein extraction from biological samples
- Gel electrophoresis
- Performing PCR
- DNA cloning
- Some plant care
Dates for this summer internship are May 15 - August 4, 2017.
Requirements:
- Current enrollment at a university within the U.S. pursuing a B.S. degree in Biological or Plant Sciences
- Cumulative GPA of 3.0 or above on a 4.0 scale
- Candidate must be returning to school to continue program of study following completion of the internship
