Customer Relations Manager
Location: Independence, Oregon, USA GENERAL DESCRIPTION:
Universal Seed Company (USC) is a third-party seed production company. We are responsible for multiplying the genetics provided to us by our customers. We do not maintain our own proprietary varieties, nor do we market seed to end users. Our company focus is to grow, clean, treat, pack and ship seed to our customers and or to their end user. The quality standards that we hold ourselves to are very high. Achieving the highest possible quality of seed is required for USC to continue to be considered a leader in this industry.
JOB SUMMARY:
- Builds and maintains positive relationships with all customer accounts
- Serves as main point of contact for all customer communications
- Sets pricing based on past production yields and updated base rates for each variety
- Takes and reviews customer contracts and confirms customer orders
- Communicates with customer to get all required parentline descriptions and necessary details for production under strict rules of confidentiality
- Ensures parentlines, materials, and product primaries are setup timely and accurately in ABS system
- Enters production orders, subcontracts, fields, and activities into ABS system
- Maintains, updates, and distributes crop release
- Reviews grower contract for correct acres, kgs., price, and bottom screen
- Acts as liaison between customer and fieldmen to keep customers informed on crop status
- Communicates customer field inspection requirements with fieldmen, USDA, or ODA as required
- Generates and sends monthly crop reports to customer
- Generates and sends crop list report for internal and external purposes and to inform customer on number of growers, fields, and other required information
- Generates and sends receiving report to update customers on progress of harvest and processing
- Establishes priorities with customers and communicates status of shipments and priorities as needed
- Acts as driving force to meet required shipping dates to fulfill customer needs
- Tracks and sends customer samples to fulfill customer requirements
- Generates and sends customers invoices for samples
- Generates and sends customers Inventory reports to update on status of inventory at USC
- Generates financial reports for projected crop value as required
- Participates in production meetings as required
- Participates in processing and priority meetings as required
- Arranges travel and organizes visits to meet with customers at their locations
- All other duties as assigned
KEY REQUIREMENTS:
- Must have an excellent eye for details
- Must have excellent organizational skills
- Must have excellent Microsoft office skills (excel, word, outlook)
- Must have a positive attitude with an ability to learn and work within a team environment.
- Must have excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills.
- Must have good self-management skills and be self-motivated
- Must have ability to make decisions in sometimes stressful situations
- Must be willing to travel overseas for customer visits as required (Japan, and Europe)
- Seed production experience highly desirable
EMPLOYMENT:
- Oregon has an employment at will law: We will not have any set term of employment. Universal Seed Co. (USC) will employ you, and you will work for USC, at our mutual pleasure. Either of us can terminate employment at any time.

- Performance/salary review: We conduct yearly salary review and performance evaluations.
- Salary and Bonus: To be determined based on experience
