A theoretical and practical course covering seed treatment processes for soybean and maize, including insecticide/fungicide application, physiology of seed imbibition, and performance quality control.
Bringing the focus to testing for fungal diseases in seed. In the practical’s different testing techniques will be executed by the participants. Part of the workshop is reserved for an elaboration on molecular assays and how to use them in seed health testing.
Topics range from seed quality assurance and current issues in seed production to seed drying and seed storage to organic seed production and strategies for plant protection.
The aim of the workshop is to introduce multispectral imaging for seed quality assessment, present the current status and discuss its future potential for use in other seeds determination and purity determination.
