The 15th International Rapeseed Congress is the largest international scientific meeting on rapeseed. More than 800 scientists and representatives of the agricultural sector met in Berlin from June 16 to 19.

New developments in genetics, breeding, cultivation, plant protection, analysis and utilisation of rapeseed oil and animal feed will be presented and discussed in plenary lectures, thematic lecture sessions and working groups. The topics revolve around the theme “flowering for the future”.

Along with Germany, the most important countries participating are China, Canada, France, Poland and Great Britain. IRC 2019 is organised by the Union for the Promotion of Oil and Protein Plants (UFOP), in cooperation with the “International Consultative Group of Research on Rapeseed” (GCIRC). 

 On this occasion, Euralis Seeds set up a stand to present its expertise in these topics and with a particular focus on the importance of rapeseed in terms of proteins.

Given the growing demand for protein and the fact that rapeseed is a major alternative to vegetable protein, it makes sense to increase the area devoted to rapeseed as a non-GMO source of protein in Europe.
