ASTA, the American Seed Trade association, at the heart of seed stakes on the American market

France
December 19, 2019

From December 9th to 12th in Chicago, Euralis Semences participated in the American Seed Trade Association (ASTA) conference, the most important meeting of the seed industry in America. This congress brings together around 1,500 seed industry professionals (managers, agronomists, public and private sector, etc.) from more than 20 countries. Corn, sorghum, soybean, wheat and plant cover are among the species mentioned.

François-Xavier Larrouy, Export Area Manager within Euralis Seeds gives us an overview of this congress:

Why participate in ASTA?

We generally come “in numbers” to ASTA because this congress is for research the heart of the reactor in terms of innovation. From a business point of view, it is the opportunity to access a huge and high-value market, the American dream!

What do our activities represent on the American market?

The canadian and American markets are mainly driven by corn  in terms of business for Euralis. Tropical Dent® varieties are also exported across the Atlantic!

What is our competitive advantage in the corn market?

We have exactly the same advantages as in Europe, that is to say:

  • grain genetics with very high potential, earliness and spectacular drydown speed;
  • promising and already successful results with our new family of silage corn such as ES BOND.
