Seed and Ag Tech Short Course set for August 5-6 at Mississippi State University's Starkville campus

Seed and agricultural industry professionals, producers, crop consultants, research professionals and stakeholders can learn about considerations for seed-applied and precision agriculture technologies during the 2025 Seed and Agricultural Technology Short Course. 

The short course will be held Aug. 5 and 6 at Bost Extension Center, 190 Bost Drive, on the Starkville campus of Mississippi State University. Breakfast begins at 7:30 a.m. and lecture sessions begin at 8:15 a.m. each day. The course ends at 1 p.m. Aug. 6. The event is hosted by the MSU Extension Service and Mississippi Agricultural and Forestry Experiment Station. 

Topics will include seed treatments, post-harvest pest management, seed quality testing, grain bin safety and state and federal seed laws. Speakers will also discuss precision irrigation management, long-range meteorology platforms, perspective and high-speed planting technologies for seed and crop production, and applications and regulations for drone and unmanned aerial vehicles, or UAVs. 

On day two, participants will also see a demonstration of current UAV technologies at the MSU Agricultural Autonomy Institute.
