CIS Alliance hires Paulina Salas, PhD, expands vegetable nursery services

Paine, Chile
May 4, 2018

CIS Alliance announces that it has hired Paulina Salas, PhD.  Paulina’s experience in vegetable breeding work supports CIS Alliance’s continued expansion of services beyond row crops and oilseeds.  Paulina will also support client communications and serve as the organization’s lead breeder.  She also has experience in row crop and oilseed nursery work.

“Paulina brings a wealth of experience to CIS Alliance,” said CIS Alliance co-owner, Nicolas Sahli.  “Her strong background in field research activities and statistical data analysis will help support CIS Alliance’s overall nursery business.”

“Joining CIS Alliance gives me the opportunity to use my diverse experience to support breeding programs from all over the world.” said Salas.  “I’m passionate about bringing the next generation of hybrids and varieties to life and CIS Alliance gives me the chance to work in crops from corn to zucchini.”

Prior to joining CIS Alliance, Paulina held similar positions with Monsanto, ANASAC and the Universidad de Chile in Santiago.  Paulina holds a PhD in ecology and evolutionary biology from the Universidad de Chile, a masters and bachelors from Pontificia Universidad Catolica de Valparaiso and conducted a research stay at Duke University in the United States.
