Title: Pilot Project -
Import requirements for wheat, barley, triticale and rye for
propagation originating from the state of North Dakota and
approved areas within the state of Montana.
Subject
This directive introduces alternate phytosanitary import
requirements for certified seed of wheat (including durum),
barley, triticale and rye originating from the state of North
Dakota and approved areas within the state of Montana.
A certified seed tag in combination with a Certificate of Origin
is accepted in lieu of a Phytosanitary Certificate. At this time
the state of North Dakota and approved areas within the state of
Montana, which are free of the regulated pests Karnal bunt,
dwarf bunt and flag smut of wheat, are allowed to participate in
this pilot project. This program is being offered as an
alternative to the requirement for a Phytosanitary Certificate
as outlined in D-99-01 (Barley, Oat, Rye, Triticale and Wheat -
Phytosanitary requirements on Import, Transshipped, In-transit
and Domestic movement). This pilot project will be reevaluated
after the initial two years of the program.

Exigences s'appliquant à l'importation de blé, d'orge, de blé,
de triticale ou de seigle destinés à la multiplication provenant
de l'État du Dakota du Nord ou de régions approuvées de l'État
du Montana
Objet
La présente directive énonce de nouvelles exigences
phytosanitaires pouvant s'appliquer, comme solution de
remplacement, à l'importation de semences de blé (y compris le
blé dur), d'orge, de triticale ou de seigle provenant du Dakota
du Nord ou de régions du Montana approuvées à cette fin.
Une étiquette de semences certifiées et un certificat d'origine
sont maintenant acceptés, au lieu d'un certificat
phytosanitaire. En ce moment, les seules régions admises aux
fins du projet pilote sont l'État du Dakota du Nord et les
régions approuvées de l'État du Montana exemptes de carie de
Karnal, de carie naine et de charbon des feuilles. Le présent
programme est proposé comme solution de remplacement à
l'obligation de produire un certificat phytosanitaire
conformément à la directive D-99-01, Orge, avoine, seigle,
triticale et blé - Exigences phytosanitaires régissant
l'importation, le transbordement, le transport de transit et le
transport en territoire canadien, et sera réévalué à la fin des
deux premières années du projet pilote.
