On December 7, 2023, the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs (MARA) announced the registration of 51 genetically engineered (GE) corn and soy varieties, including 37 GE corn varieties and 14 GE soybean varieties. The inaugural list of GE corn and soybean varieties was released initially for public comment on October 17, 2023. This report provides a link to a previous report containing an unofficial translation of the 51 GE corn and soybean varieties along with their yield performance information.

Summary

On December 7, 2023, MARA published Announcement No. 732 (link in Chinese), announcing final approval of 51 GE corn and soy varieties, including 37 GE corn varieties and 14 GE soybean varieties. The 51 GE varieties passed the preliminary review by the China National Crop Variety Registration Committee (CNCVRC) and were published for public comment on October 17.
