SeCan is pleased announces Lauren Wensley as Marketing Representative for Northern Saskatchewan

Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada
March 15, 2021

SeCan is pleased to announce Lauren Wensley has accepted the position of Marketing Representative for Northern Saskatchewan, effective today.

Lauren brings a wealth of seed industry knowledge, experience, energy, and enthusiasm to the SeCan role. She worked previously in seed for Viterra, Canterra, and most recently in retail with G-Mac's AgTeam at Lucky Lake SK. Responsible for supporting SeCan members' businesses across her region, she will represent SeCan and our varieties within Saskatchewan and western Canada.

“Lauren's connections within the industry and seed grower community means she will ‘hit the ground running’, says Todd Hyra, SeCan’s Western Business Manager. “We look forward to Lauren following her passion for seed as a member of our western team.”

Lauren shares, "I am very excited to get back into the seed industry full time and start working with SeCan members and partners again!”

This role will fill the vacancy left by Wes Woods as he moves into retirement. Wes will remain a resource for SeCan during busy times over the upcoming season. A huge thanks to Wes for his over 20 years supporting SeCan members in Saskatchewan.

Based in her Lucky Lake home office, Lauren can be reached on her cell 306-540-5640 or by email at lwensley@secan.com.

SeCan is a consortium of over 600 independent Canadian seed businesses engaged in seed production, processing and marketing. As “Canada’s Seed Partner”, SeCan actively seeks partnerships that promote success in Canadian agriculture. SeCan is the largest supplier of certified seed to Canadian farmers, with more than 400 varieties in 40 crop types developed by public and private sector breeding programs. Collectively, SeCan members are major supporters of seed variety research and development, returning more than $125 million in royalties and research funding since inception in 1976.
