Incotec Brazil will celebrate its 25th anniversary this year, marking a quarter-century of innovation, growth and service to the Latin American agricultural sector. Incotec Brazil is located in Holambra, deep in Sao Paulo state. Incotec set up business there in 2000, and at that time mainly focused on lettuce and tobacco. In 2003, business expanded into the much larger Field Crops segment, as it was clear that this was where most of the opportunities for growth lay. In 2023 Incotec opened a new facility in Holambra featuring state-of-the-art technology. Incotec Brazil does business in most countries in Latin America and provides services based on all seed technologies. Disco, Incotec's film coat, is the largest product for the Latin American agricultural sector.
The success comes from the needs of farmers to strive for the best possible growing methods. A strong reduction in the amounts of plant protection products being used is achieved by applying crop protection agents directly to the seed instead of spraying them in the field. Plant protection products are most effective when incorporated into a pellet or a film coating. Incotec’s researchers are constantly looking for the best application methods. A great deal of attention is paid to combinations with various seed enhancement technologies such as upgrading, priming and disinfecting.
