The new facility, located just a few minutes away from the current laboratory location in Hoddesdon, provides a newly fitted, purpose built centre for the delivery of genomics services to support the scientific discovery programmes of our global customer base. As well as enabling us to deliver even greater customer service and support, the Trident Park laboratory will include an interactive customer demonstration facility which will showcase our suite of market leading genomics products and instrumentation solutions for flexible, high throughput, automated PCR and genotyping applications.
The new laboratory provides for considerable potential expansion and offers the capacity for a 10 fold increase in UK manufacturing capability. Expanded product delivery capability, combined with an even greater level of throughput in our genomics services division will benefit all our customers and their genomics based research. The new laboratory also affords our internal research and development team access to significantly increased resources to drive product and service innovation with greater vigor than ever.
Last year we were delighted to combine the KBioscience and LGC Genomics businesses to create a dynamic company able to serve the genomics research community with a wider offering of products, services and solutions across extraction, genotyping and sequencing. The development of innovative, cost-efficient genomics products and services have been core to our success and the greater opportunities afforded by the new facility will enable the delivery of an even greater level service and support for all our customers.
